Villa Madliena
A private villa on one of Malta’s most exposed ridges — built for the view, and for the wind that comes with it.

A house shaped
by its ridge.
Madliena sits high and open. It gives a villa the long view across the north of the island, and in exchange it takes the full weight of the weather.
That trade-off drives the build. Levels are cut into the slope rather than imposed on it, the frame is set out to carry wide spans of glazing without a forest of columns behind it, and the external finishes are specified for exposure rather than for a sheltered courtyard.
As on every job we take as main contractor, the structural trades are our own — shutterers, steel fixers, concreters and licensed masons — with established subcontractors brought in for the specialist packages.
Built for the view, detailed for the wind.

Our company has used the services of Schranz Ltd on numerous occasions and we have always been satisfied with the finished product. I would therefore not hesitate to recommend their services to third parties.
Schranz Ltd always placed reliable employees on the projects undertaken and always sought to find the most cost effective and expedient way of completing the work. More importantly the projects undertaken always finished on time and within the budget allocated, which enabled us to focus on our core business. I therefore confirm Schranz Ltd’s reputation as fair, efficient and diligent contractors.
